In the first phase of work, experts from the University of Exeter will work with the organisation to lay the foundations for reducing their emissions effectively.
By collecting emissions data, analysing the company’s energy use and identifying high-impact actions, these vital first steps will feed into a practical plan to reduce carbon and boost efficiency.
“We’re not just looking inward. We’re thinking about our role in the wider ecosystem,” says Natalie Joyce, Head of Sustainability at RiskSTOP Group. “The University of Exeter brings deep academic expertise and hands-on insight. That combination will help us make meaningful progress.”
“We’re delighted to partner with RiskSTOP Group, a company who are committed to making sustainable changes across their entire operations,” says Amy Shaw, Green Futures Solutions lead. “We look forward to sharing our expertise – powered by over 1500 climate researchers, the practical experience of helping businesses reduce emissions, and our own ambitious climate action plan – to help them achieve that.”
The second phase will take things further, exploring the ‘Scope 3’ emissions tied to the company’s supply chain, business travel, and other indirect impacts.
Typically, this is where organisations can make the biggest gains and positive impacts. But they are also more complex to tackle, which is where the insight of Chris Phillips, a decarbonisation expert who has helped 100s of businesses to reduce their emissions, will make the difference.
Speaking about the project, Chris said: “I’m excited to help RiskSTOP Group access the knowledge, data, and best practices for reducing emissions – especially when it comes to tackling complex indirect impacts in Scope 3 – so they can deliver their ambition of making a positive difference for our planet.”
Alongside this, the team will help them consider how biodiversity and nature-based solutions could positively impact natural resources, and what a full Climate Transition Plan could look like.
We’re excited to share more as the project develops.
