Professor Richard Betts MBE

Richard is Chair in Climate Impacts at the University of Exeter and Head of Climate Impacts Research in the Met Office Hadley Centre.

He is also an Expert Advisor to the Climate Change Committee, the UK government’s official independent climate advisory body. He was a Lead Author on the 4^th, 5^th and 6^th Assessment Reports for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and led the Technical Report for the UK’s 3^rd UK Climate Change Risk Assessment. In 2019 he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for Services to Understanding Climate Change.
